With Xerox launching a new Solid Ink Printer every 2 years or so , it can be frustrating for customers who change their printer and are left with Solid ink from previous model. Unfortunately none of the solid inks are interchangeable between printers . Xerox use a very sophisticated ink detection sensor in the ink loaders , which will generate an error code. The problem you will be left with is how to remove the ink block that did not fit in your new printer ! You will have to WAIT until the printer cools down, at least an hour. Then tilt the printer up so that the block slides back to the opening. Then with VERY STICKY tape try and fish it out.

Sorry same problem here. Although the standard Phaser 8500 maintenance kit will work in the 8550 , the high capacity 8550 maintenance kit will NOT work in the 8500 model. Don't worry if this is confusing, all the kits are in the correct category on this site.

Yes, I would keep the LED display. We have had many requests for new ones over the years. They seem to fail JUST as your printer's 12 month on-site warranty finishes. Costing £135.00 + VAT it's well worth just keeping it in a drawer. Another thing that fails is the Multi Purpose Tray supports. Again , a silly price if you have to replace them.
